Scar Tissue Clothing was first thought of/created in late 2002 by, Anya Slutskaya. Born in Moscow, Russia in January 1988, she moved to the US with her mother and grandfather in the early '90s, and settled in San Diego, CA. By 15 years old, she began working as waitress at a local diner and became fairly independant. Along with that came travel and move... from New York and Portland, and then finally to her present state : Las Vegas, NV. Anya realized her real life goal very early on, to be the next big designer in the fetish world. As far as her clothing line dream: [Scar Tissue Clothing] JUST slowly started really going somewhere early 2005 when Anya decided to give up her hard headed ways and learned to use a sewing machine instead of hand sewing. It helped her design ten times faster and provide people with what they wanted a lot sooner [and of course, better quality]. Using yahoo photos and myspace's networking magic, she became fairly well known and decided to take it one step further and really try to make things happen. Currently she lives in Las Vegas with her amazingly supportive boyfriend and pets. Anya has really shown to be a hard worker and very determined to get want she wants out of life. And as a fresh starter, we all know that her designs will only get better and expand and maybe even soon, will become mass produced to the point where she can achive one of her most important life goals: opening her own lovely Scar Tissue Clothing Boutique :)

[FAQ]

Why the name: Scar Tissue?
Well, I always had a huge love for medicine and used to help my mother out at the hospice she worked at. I even took a job at a veterinary hospital because I wanted to do SOMETHING! Because my love for clothing design out grew my love for medicine, I decided to almost "dedicate" the name of my company to my other love.. Sort of makes sense haha....

Do you have anyone helping you with the line?
I have a great website designer who helps me keep this site from looking like a complete train wreck and I have fantastic models. There is also a fellow seamstress friend of mine, Donald Seneca, who helps me sew some of the large orders that I get whether it's for online or retail sales. For the other 93% of the time, It's just me! At home, with my amazing PFAFF sewing machine and SINGER serger....

What inspires your designs?
I would like to think I have a european edge to everything I make because I was raised in Russia. I always wanted to see the clothing that was in Vogue, made into vinyl. My strong passion for all things shiny and my love for class with sass really plays into my designs. I like flirty wear, sultry yet really elegant. There is a thin line between the two and that is what I have been trying to squeeze between. But, as far as WHO inspired me the most was: VEX Latex, Versittile Fashions, Marquis Magazine, and Skin II.

Describe your designs in a few words:

Euro-glam/goth-fetishy-modern victorian yumminess!

Do you ever make men's clothes? Yes... a few pieces here and there but not enough to put online yet. I'm still working on improving and expanding my female line first.

What Aren't You Currently Making?
Pants. I hate pants.... I know how to make them, I just haven't had a real desire to just yet. Corsets are a huge love but I am still perfecting MINE... when I release my corsets, they will all be metal boned and super high quality... I demand perfection before ever selling anything haha!

What else do you do besides sewing?
I have been modeling for a few years and I love doing it when I have the free time. I work a TON!!! I'm a buyer for an adult lingerie boutique by day and I also work for an adult production company as a sales rep. Very fun but time consuming. I also have a huge passion in art, drawing, painting, crocheting...etc.

Do you do fashion shows?
I WILL! I had my first big one in Aug. 2006 at a las vegas nightclub.. Due to my busy day time job schedule, it's sometimes hard to put such a large event together alone. I am currently working with a few people to put something together again soon.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Still sewing and sharing my creations with many more people... doing many fashion shows and travelings with my designs all over the world!

What is your favorite fabric to wear and sew?

VINYL!! I love vinyl, along with all things shiny and pretty. I also like to work with wet look fabrics, lace, and anything glittery or attention grabbing

How do you ship your products?

I normally use the US Post Office or Post Net, they work fast and are cheaper for the consumer. Unless I am filling a large order, or I get a request, I feel like it works just as well as paying more for Fedx or UPS

When do you usually ship?

Within 2 business days. If it's a custom order, I always give a ship date and make sure it's acceptable with the customer

How do I custom order from Scar Tissue?
Just click [HERE] for more information

What about refunds?
I accept refunds/exchanges within 30 days of purchase as long as the shipping is paid for by the customer.

I want to model for your site, how can I do so?
Currently I am setting up a method to mail out clothing to models across the country to get different pictures for a huge portfolio of custom designs that I am working on. As soon as this system is set it, it will have it's own page to give more detailed instructions...

Anything else??
Well... just bare with me people please. I am doing this 100% on my own and just want everyone to understand that. I promise to get this site looking a hell of a lot neater soon! ♥
